From an Erasmus+ European Solidarity Corps Project to a Corporate League: The Journey of Volley With Me

Volley With Me was launched as an Erasmus+ European Solidarity Corps (ESC) project, using sport as a powerful tool for social inclusion and community building. The project aimed to bring migrant and local youth together through volleyball, strengthening social bonds, fostering a sense of belonging, and promoting healthy and active lifestyles.

Throughout the project, regular grassroots volleyball trainings and friendly matches provided participants with more than just physical activity. They created a space to develop teamwork, trust, communication skills, and mutual understanding. Over time, this consistent engagement and growing team spirit allowed the project’s impact to extend beyond informal activities on local courts.

As a natural outcome of this journey, the team formed within the Volley With Me project took an important step forward by joining the ALPS Business Corporate Volleyball League in Warsaw. What began as a solidarity-based grassroots initiative evolved into participation in a structured, city-wide amateur league—demonstrating the project’s tangible and sustainable impact.

The ALPS Business Corporate Volleyball League stands out for its inclusive approach, focusing not only on competition but also on integration, collaboration, and shared goals. Open to amateur and mixed teams, the league offered participants the opportunity to represent themselves confidently in a broader social and sporting environment.

With the support of the Erasmus+ European Solidarity Corps, Volley With Me has grown into a strong example of how grassroots sports initiatives can lead to long-term engagement and visible achievements. The first steps taken on local courts have now become a shared success story played out on a much larger stage.
