D-ENGAGE Project Kicks Off: Using Esports to Bridge the Digital Divide in Youth Work
We at STOWARZYSZENIE Young Entrepreneurs Society (YES) are proud to be a partner in the D-ENGAGE (Bridging the Digital Gap in Youth Work Through Esports) project, supported by the Erasmus+ Programme. The project officially began with its first transnational meeting on April 15, 2025, bringing together all partners to launch a collaborative journey toward digital transformation in the field of youth work.
What Is D-ENGAGE About?
D-ENGAGE is designed to empower youth workers with the skills and tools they need to thrive in the digital age. By leveraging the popularity and potential of esports, the project introduces a new, engaging way to connect with young people, foster inclusion, and develop essential digital and social skills.
The project offers a wide range of opportunities — from educational resources and esports tournaments to mentoring and digital competence development — helping both young people and youth workers to build stronger, more inclusive communities.
Our Actions and Activities
To bring this mission to life, D-ENGAGE is launching several innovative activities that combine education, practice, and collaboration:
- We are developing an interactive e-learning platform that will provide youth workers with a solid foundation in esports, including topics such as game dynamics, coaching, and team leadership.
- A webinar and podcast series will dive into the role of esports in youth development and explore its wider impact on the digital world.
- Youth workers and young people will join together in an international esports tournament, offering opportunities to develop teamwork, test their skills, and enjoy healthy competition.
- A Team Building Guide will be created to support youth workers in building inclusive, effective, and supportive teams.
Why It Matters
D-ENGAGE is more than just a digital project — it’s a movement to reimagine how youth engagement can evolve in the modern world. By using esports as a purposeful educational platform, the project helps:
- Youth workers develop digital literacy and leadership skills
- Young people build teamwork, resilience, and self-confidence
- Communities embrace more inclusive and innovative approaches to youth engagement
